Infertility

According to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, 6.1 milliion women are affected by infertility.
Infertility is the inability to conceive after one year of trying to get pregnant in women under 35, after 6 months in women over 35, or the inability to carry a pregnancy to term. Both women or men can be infertile. Infertility can result from problems with any of the following steps: ovulation (the egg being expelled from the ovary), the egg traveling down the fallopian tube and reaching the uterus, fertilization (the sperm combining with the egg to create an embryo), and implantation (the embryo embedding itself in the uterine wall).
