VOLUNTEER IN A STUDY
If your family has a history of a disease currently being studied at the Lucina Foundation, we invite you to participate to help find the genetic cause and help us improve treatments or find a cure. There is no cost to participate in a study and all information is kept strictly confidential. You may be assured that involvement in our research studies will not affect the insurability of any member of your family.

Lucina's current project focuses on preterm labor and premature birth. Our goal, through genetic research, is to break open the mystery of what causes preterm labor. This discovery will lead to a greater understanding of preterm labor and improved treatment and care that can help thousands of babies.

If you are interested please email or call us to let us know of your interest. Provide us with a little information about you and your family, and we will contact you and ask you to answer a few questions to help us determine study suitability. If your family is found suitable and you would like to help advance research, you will be asked to:
   Sign a consent to participate.
   Complete a short questionnaire.
   Provide a release for Lucina to obtain a copy of your medical records relating to the disease    being studied.
   Provide a saliva, cheek, or blood sample for DNA purposes.
