PREGNANCY COMPLICATIONS

Placenta abruption
Placenta abruption occurs in 1 out of 100 pregnancies. Placental abruption happens when the placenta begins to detach from the uterine wall before the baby has been born. Abruption is more common if the mother has high blood pressure, abdominal trauma, premature rupture of the membranes, or smokes during pregnancy.

Symptoms
Pain, vaginal bleeding, and contractions.
