BIRTH DEFECTS

Renal hydronephrosis
Hydronephrosis is swelling of the kidney. This is often due to an obstruction or narrowing of the ureter, the muscular tube that carries urine away from the kidney and into the bladder. The swelling if very bad can cause pain and discomfort and even kidney failure. The obstruction needs to be removed so that the urinary tract can function properly.
